Oak Harbor freshman Haven Brown placed 16th in the District 1 Boys Golf Tournament this week at the Snohomish Golf Course and qualified for the state finals.

The first 17 earned state trips, and Brown’s two-day total of 167 (83, 84) was two strokes ahead of the final qualifier.

Stanwood’s Quinton Borseth was medalist with a 145.

Brown was the only Oak Harbor golfer to make the first-day cut.
