Everett, the defending league champion and currently ranked seventh in the state, and unranked Oak Harbor are the two top dogs in Wesco this winter, and barring an upset, should finish 1-2 in the final league standings — the order to be determined Thursday.

At Shorecrest Tuesday, Oak Harbor defeated the Scots 54-25 and Shorewood 52-15.

The Wildcats received double wins from Jeremy Vester (106 pounds; pin, forfeit), Nathanael Stanford (138; pin, 14-4), Sheyenne Sams (145; pin, 10-6), David Payne (152/160; pin, 11-7), Collin Higingbotham (182; pin, pin) and Hunter Vail (220, pin, pin).

Also picking up wins against Shorecrest (1-3, 3-4) were Ben Pralle (126, pin), Mark Johnston (132, pin) and Joshua Crebbin (160, pin).

The Wildcats (4-0, 10-1) are in the midst of a busy week of wrestling. In addition to the Shoreline and Everett matches, Oak Harbor travels to Renton for a double-dual meet with Hazen, Highline and Chief Sealth Friday, Jan. 13, at 5 p.m., and then takes part in the Tournament of Excellence at Mercer Island High School Saturday at 10 a.m.
