Brothers Jahleel and Jeremy Vester, Oak Harbor High School graduates, received special awards at Central College’s wrestling winter awards banquet recently.
Senior Jahleel was the recipient of the Coaches’ Award, and junior Jeremy was tabbed as the team’s Most Improved Performer.
They also received varsity letters from Central (Pella, Iowa).
Jaheel, who earned four varsity letters during his career, finished the 2017-18 season with a 10-10 record, which included three falls, in the 141-pound class. He also placed third in the MSOE Invitational and fifth at the Duhawk Open.
Jeremy, 165 pounds, earned his third varsity letter while posting a 25-9 record. He was an all-Iowa Conference selection and qualified for the NCAA III national tournament. During the season, he took first at the MSOE Invitational and Central Under Armor Invitational and third at the Millikin Open and the Lower Midwest Regional.
