It was mistakenly reported recently that two Oak Harbor High School softball players set new school single season records.
First-year coach Alicia Ashburn and the current players were not aware that the record board posted in the school has not been updated.
In Oak Harbor’s 8-7 loss to Arlington Tuesday, Cierra LeGendre upped her season hit total to 31 and Miranda Wilson pushed her runs scored total to 25.
Both were believed to be new school records, passing what is listed on the record board: Jessica Kallander had 29 hits in 2008 and Carolyn Barr (1996) and Shawna Steele (2013) each scored 23 runs.
Alexa Findley, however, registered 33 hits and 27 runs in 2016.
Oak Harbor still has two regular season games left this season, so LeGendre and Wilson may yet break the school marks.
