North Whidbey Middle School placed second in a three-team cross country meet Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Skagit River Park in Burlington.
Anacortes captured the meet with 125 points, followed by North Whidbey (185) and Burlington-Edison (229).
The Cougars’ top finish came from Carly VanGiesen, who won the seventh-grade girls race.
North Whidbey will host the middle school championship meet Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Fort Nugent Park.
