The Coupeville High School track team collected eight blue ribbons and a school record at the North Sound Conference championships Thursday, May 2.
King’s dominated the six-team girls meet, scoring 192 points. Coupeville was a distant second with 102.
South Whidbey edged King’s 142.5-142 for the boys title; the Wolves were third with 109.5.
Mallory Kortuem added three inches to her school pole vault record, jumping 8-06 while finishing second.
Emma Smith (shot put, 31-09.75) and Maya Toomey-Stout (long jump, 15-11.75) picked up wins for the Coupeville girls.
Danny Conlisk paced the boys by winning the 200 (22.75), 400 (51.76) and 4×100 relay with Tiger Johnson, Sean Toomey-Stout and Jean Lund Olsen (44.21).
He was also second in the 100 behind Lund Olsen (11.25).
Other boys finishing first were Koa Davisson (high jump, 5-10) and Toomey-Stout (long jump, 20-03.75).
The District 1 championship meet is 3:45 p.m. Thursday, May 9, and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Lynden Christian High School.
