For the second game in a row, the Coupeville High School girls basketball team raced to a lead and then turned back a fourth-quarter rally to collect a non-conference win.
The Wolves won 35-26 at Friday Harbor Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Coupeville (3-1), whose only loss this season is to unbeaten 3A Oak Harbor, entertains Concrete (0-2) at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.
In the win over Friday Harbor, the Wolves led 11-5, 19-9 and 29-13 after the first three quarters. The Wolverines doubled their score with 13 fourth-quarter points but couldn’t catch Coupeville.
Chelsea Prescott scored 8 points in the first quarter and the Wolves limited Friday Harbor to single field goals in each of the first two periods as Coupeville zipped to a 10-point halftime lead.
Prescott and Scout Smith each finished with 8 points, Hannah Davidson had 6, Tia Wurzrainer 4, Izzy Wells 3, Avalon Renninger 2, Maddie Georges 2 and Carolyn Lhamon 2.
Bailee Lambright scored 10 for the Wolverines.
