Coupeville to begin streaming school events

Coupeville High School has installed a streaming camera system to broadcast events from the school gymnasium and Mickey Clark Field.

The Coupeville Lions Club and Coupeville Booster Club donated the funds to purchase the system.

Events at the gym and Mickey Clark Field can now watched with a subscription to the National Federation of State High School Associations Network.

“A portion of each of the subscriptions comes to the Coupeville High School athletic fund, but, more importantly, friends and family who are not able to attend events that occur in those venues can now watch them play,” Coupeville Athletic Director Willie Smith said. “Our goal is to eventually get a class that will teach kids how to do play-by-play so that we can sync the broadcast of the game with an actual audio broadcast; for this year, it will just be the game broadcasted with no audio.”

In addition to broadcasting athletic events, Coupeville High School will cover other events, such as graduation, that occur at the sites.

The cost is $69.99 for the annual plan or $10.99 per month for the monthly plan.
