The North Whidbey Little League Dodgers knocked league rival Red Sox out of the Andrade Tournament at Windjammer Park Monday, June 3.
The Dodgers won the elimination game 15-7 and will try to stay alive in another loser-out game at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 5.
The Dodgers dropped into the consolation bracket with a 12-2 loss to Burlington’s Blue Sox Sunday.
In the win over the Red Sox, the Dodgers thumped 16 hits, eight for extra bases. Cameron Aguirre slugged three hits, including a three-run home run and double, good for five RBI. Caleb Fitzgerald was 3-for-5 with a double, and Trenton Cone went 2-for-2 with a double.
The loss to the Blue Sox was “not a good day overall for hitting or fielding,” according to Dodger coach Jerry Newton.
Fitzgerald led the offense, going 3-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Gabriel Harpe added an RBI double.
