Ocki Dureau and Joanna Leete combined to eke out a one-stroke win in the 2014 Whidbey Golf Club Ladies Invitational June 26-27.
Dureau and Leete shot a 68 to post the best Flight 1 gross score. Cathy Chapman and Lori Johnson were one stroke back at 69.
The Flight 1 net competition was also close. Carol Baldwin and Nancy Daly recorded a 53 to narrowly defeat Barbara Bailey and Barbara Calvo, who finished with a 54.
In Flight 2, Marsha Phay and Patty Cole carded a gross score of 81 to win by three strokes over three teams tied at 84.
In a tournament of tight matches, the Flight 2 net race featured the most packed finish. The duos of Cathy Ainsworth/Kelly Mannon and Diane Pierce/Roni Pierce tied for first with a 53, one shot better than two other teams, Jen McCullough/Lynette Lawson and Anna Anderson/Shirley Yunker.
