The Oak Harbor High School tennis team is up to its old tricks, playing in one-point matches. Everett eased by the Wildcats 4-3 Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Clark Park.

Everett eased by the Wildcats 4-3 Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Clark Park.

Oak Harbor started the season by playing five one-point contests in its first six matches; only two of the next seven finished 4-3.

All three of the Wildcats’ wins at Everett (4-6, 5-8) came in singles: 2, Carter Saar won 6-3, 6-3; 3, Casiano Atienza won 6-4, 6-2; and 3, Jackson Wezeman won 6-2, 6-2.

Harrison Miller lost in first singles 6-1, 6-0.

The swing match was second doubles where Everett eked by Tom Dale and Jacob Nelson 6-3, 2-6, 4-6.

In other doubles action, Jose Dimaculangan and Jozef Mendoza fell 6-3, 6-1; and Calib Byers and Isaac Deleon lost 6-1, 6-1.

The Wildcats also lost to Everett 4-3 Sept. 18

Oak Harbor (3-7, 4-9) goes to Marysville Getchell (3-7, 3-10) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.
