The duos of Mark and Jeff Strickland and Jeff and Mike Rodgers won the Whidbey Golf Club’s Whidbey Dental Two-Person Best Ball Tournament this weekend

The duos of Mark and Jeff Strickland and Jeff and Mike Rodgers won the Whidbey Golf Club’s Whidbey Dental Two-Person Best Ball Tournament this weekend.

The tournament, the first big WGC event of the year, attracted players from all over the region, according to WGC pro David Phay. The field included 110 golfers, the largest turnout in a decade.

The Strickland’s posted the top gross score, 67, one shot a head of the teams of Lance Kilbride/Ryan Yalowicki and Sean Hall/Robert Tercero.

The Rodgers shot the top net score, 59. The pairs of Shane Butchart/Darin Huseby and Brian Wasinger/Arik Dahlen tied for second with 61s.
