Oak Harbor High School freshman Jordan Fay finished 17th at the 3A state diving meet Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
Sophomore teammate John Blankman placed 22nd out of 26.
Fay was 16th after the preliminary round with 123.95 points. Blankman tallied 109.7.
The top 20 advanced to the semifinals, and Fay slipped a spot to 17th with a score of 185.2. The first 16 continued to the finals.
Shorewood senior Isaac Poole captured the state title with 446.65 points in the finals.
Fay placed third among freshman, trailing two Western Conference foes. Marysville Getchell’s Eric Davydenko finished sixth and Marysville-Pilchuck’s Eduard Naumchik was 12th.
Blankman was sixth among sophomores.
