Klahowya solidified its hold on the Olympic League lead by defeating the Coupeville High School soccer team 5-0 Monday, April 17, in Silverdale.
The Eagles used a second-half surge to put away the Wolves and to raise their conference record to 5-0 (7-2-1).
Coupeville trailed by only one, 1-0, at halftime as “the boys fought hard against tough pressure,” coach Kyle Nelson said.
“In the second half, they were able to find a way through for some quick goals to go up on us 0-4, and they added one more later for a final score of 0-5,” he added.
The Wolves created several chances, according to Nelson, and “came real close to scoring a few times.”
“We were trying to work on our defense, and save for a 10-minute period in the second half, we did a real good job,” Nelson said. “We keep improving as a unit, and I really like the direction we are headed.”
The Wolves (2-3, 3-7-1) play Chimacum (0-5, 2-7-2) at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Mickey Clark Field.
