Marysville-Getchell scored three runs over the fifth and sixth innings to come from behind and defeat the visiting Oak Harbor High School softball team 7-6 Friday, April 26.
The Wildcats led until the sixth inning. They scored two in the first and three in the third to lead 5-1.
After the Chargers scored three in the bottom of the third to make it 5-4, Oak Harbor responded with another tally in the fifth to finish its scoring.
Getchell scored two in the bottom of the fifth to tie it up, then got the game winner in the sixth.
Three of Oak Harbor’s eight hits were for extra bases. Shawna Steele tripled while Emily Saar and Kelly Findley doubled.
The win helped the Chargers (4-5, 6-10) move into second in the tightly bunched Wesco 3A North standings. Marysville-Pilchuck (5-4, 8-8) is on top, one game ahead of Getchell. Oak Harbor and Everett are both 3-6 and 4-12. Stanwood trails at 1-8 (3-13).
Oak Harbor hosts Everett at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30.
