Emily Huffer, a Running Start junior at Oak Harbor High School, earned a spot on this year’s USA Swimming Scholastic All-America team.
Huffer is one of only 25 student athletes from the Pacific Northwest region to receive the honor and one of only 1,356 nationally.
To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must be in grades 10-12, maintain a 3.5 or higher grade point average and meet a standard time in at least one swimming event.
Past Oak Harbor swimmers to earn the honor included the Hu siblings, John, Price and Ciera, and Laura Rosen.
