The U-17 Islanders boys select soccer team opened its season with a 5-0 win at Federal Way Sunday, Sept. 7.

Chaz Purdy and Kurtis Zylstra each scored twice and Eric Jensen tallied once to lead the Islanders to the “clinical victory,” according to first-year coach Curtis Vieke.

“The defense line was solid while picking up the clean sheet,” Vieke said. “The play of our team was top-notch from start to finish. We controlled every aspect on the field.”

The Islander now head to Bellevue Sunday, Sept. 14.
