The U-17 Islanders won their second straight shutout, beating the South Whidbey Reign 3-0 Sunday, Oct. 5, at Fort Nugent Park.
Kurtis Zylstra scored two goals for the Islanders, and Keagan Snell added the third.
Islander coach Curtis Vieke missed the match because of an illness and assistant Taylor Yancy took over.
“Taylor does such a fantastic job with the boys, you forget he is just a senior in high school,” Vieke said.
The Islanders play their next match at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Fort Nugent Park.
