Oak Harbor High School junior Nick Krantz placed 22nd in the state 3A golf tournament Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21 and 22, at the Indian Summer Country Club in Lacey.
Krantz finished with a two-round total of 160 after rounds of 79 and 81.
Ethan Evans of Mercer Island earned the state individual title with a 143 (71, 72).
Bellevue High School captured the team championship with a score of 602.
Wesco and District 1 champion Everett finished third at 620. Everett’s Austin Duffy took ninth (153), recording the best score by a Western Conference golfer at state. Krantz was fifth among Wesco athletes.
This was Krantz’s third trip to state. He placed 62nd as a freshman, shooting 82 and missing the cut of 77.
Last year he jumped to 24th with a 153 (72, 81).
