Long to call action at state basketball tournaments

Jay Long, public address announcer for Oak Harbor High School football and basketball games, will call games at the Washington State 3A and 4A basketball tournaments beginning Thursday, March 5, at the Tacoma Dome.

This is Long’s 12th year working at the state tournaments.

Included in Long’s schedule this year is the 3A boys championship game at 5 p.m. Saturday.

He will open the tournament at 3:45 p.m. Thursday by announcing the girls 4A games.

Friday, Long will announce the 3A boys games, including the semifinals at 7:15 and 9 p.m.

Saturday morning at 9:30, he will handle the 4A girls game that will determine fourth and sixth places.
