Weather conditions made late March feel almost like early November, but playing conditions were nearly perfect for football at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

Rain mixed with snow kept Saturday’s crowd down for the game between the Skagit Valley Lightning and the Tri-City Knights, both members of the Evergreen Football League, but 60 minutes of head knocking kept the players on the field warm and the crowd on their feet.

The league for adult amateur football players has been in existence for four years, has teams made up of players who are soon to be high school graduates and former high school players, some with as long as 14 years of playing experience, and servicemen.
