The Oak Harbor and Burlington Legion baseball teams split a pair of games this week, each winning on the road.

Oak Harbor topped the Sox 11-5 Monday, June 16, in Burlington, and Burlington, behind a no-hitter by Wes Fleury, defeated the Wildcats 18-2 Wednesday, June 18, in five innings in Oak Harbor.

Oak Harbor (4-7) hosts Arlington (3-7) at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 19, then takes part in a tournament in Anacortes this weekend, starting with a 2 p.m. game Friday, June 20.

In Monday’s game, Oak Harbor rallied from 5-0 deficit for the win.

The Sox had only six hits off Oak Harbor pitcher Danny Wolfe, and four of those came in a three-run first inning. Two hits and two errors led to two more runs in the third.

Wolfe allowed only two walks over the final four innings and put down 10 in a row at one point, giving the Wildcats a chance to recover.

In the top of the fourth, Robert Herring and Christian Bertram walked and scored on Avery Aguirre’s double to make it 5-2.

Oak Harbor tied it with a three-run fifth without getting a hit. A walk, three straight hit batters and a ground out led to the runs.

Singles by Aguirre, Kevyn Johnson and Bertram highlighted a four-run sixth.

Two errors and a single by Clay Doughty produced the final run in the seventh.

Wolfe finished with five strikeouts and five walks.

Aguirre and Johnson collected two hits each.

Wednesday, Burlington (7-7) scored five runs in the first inning and eight in the fifth to roll to the win.

Four consecutive walks and a double produced the five first-inning runs.

The Sox started the fifth with seven hits, a walk and an error before Oak Harbor recorded an out.

The Wildcats scored both of their runs in the fourth on walks to Doughty and Wolfe and an error.

Fleury struck out five and walked three.
