Shorecrest and Ferndale each scored in double figures in every quarter to hand the Oak Harbor High School girls basketball team a pair of losses over the weekend.
Visiting Shorecrest defeated Oak Harbor 65-36 Friday, Jan. 31, then host Ferndale topped the Wildcats 54-24 Saturday, Feb. 1, in a nonleague game.
Shorecrest led 17-5, 33-15 and 50-29 at the quarters.
The Scots out-rebounded Oak Harbor 45-26, including 24-10 at the offensive end. They also forced 21 turnovers while committing only 10.
Jinai Guzman led Oak Harbor with 10 points, Joanna Leete had six, Jamie Estrella six, Julie Jansen five, Bryn Langrock three, Hayley Lundstrom three, Courtney Triplett two and Liz Lym one.
Jansen added six rebounds and Natalie Fiallos recorded five assists.
Wurrie Njadoe scored 19 points for the nine-ranked Scots (9-2, 14-4).
The Wildcats shot 30 (6 for 20) percent from beyond the arc, but only 19 percent (5 for 26) from within.
Against Ferndale, Oak Harbor made only one two-point field goal while hitting six three-pointers.
Leete scored 11 points, Guzman nine, Estrella two, Langrock one and Kenna Prosch one.
Hannah Carlson scored 17 points and Linsey Honeycutt grabbed 18 rebounds for the Golden Eagles.
Ferndale led at the quarters 14-3, 26-12 and 41-21.
Oak Harbor (0-11, 0-18) finishes the season with the Marysville schools, going to Marysville-Pilchuck (3-8, 6-12) at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, and hosting Getchell (1-9, 4-13) at 7:15 Thursday, Feb. 6.
