Oak Harbor earns 1 win in opening day of North meet | Track

The meet will conclude beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, in Oak Harbor.

Wednesday featured the finals in five boys and four girls events. Preliminaries in most others were also held.

The finals for the remaining 12 boys and 14 girls events will be Friday.

Arlington dominated Wednesday, leading both the boys and girls in team scoring.

The Eagle boys ran up 105 points, followed by Everett (36.5), Oak Harbor (34), Marysville-Pilchuck (27.5), Stanwood (26) and Marysville Getchell (1).

The Arlington girls lead with 90 points. Oak Harbor is second with 34, four ahead of Stanwood. M-P has 22, Everett 5 and Getchell 3.

Rodeheffer captured the 1,600 in 4:15.4, the fourth-best 3A time in the state this season. Wildcat Sebastian Ceaser placed fifth (4:36.55).

Mark Johnston (19-03) and Diangelo McKinney (19) finished fourth and sixth in the long jump.

Tyler Adamson was fourth in the shot put (48-00.5), Mac Nuanez tied for sixth in the high jump (5-06) and Quinn Karney tied for eighth in the pole vault (9).

Jonalynn Horn (1,600, 5:20.61) and Julie Jansen (discus, 103) led the Oak Harbor girls by placing third.

Taylor Deconzo was fourth (105-07) and Samantha Hines seventh (102-05) in the javelin, and Kenna Prosch finished seventh in the discus (92-03).

The Wildcats had three athletes score points in the long jump as Jenna Cooley finished fifth (15-09) and Priya Osborne and Hayley Lundstrom tied for sixth (15-08.5).
