Kayleigh Harper, a 2014 graduate of Oak Harbor High School now playing volleyball for Western Washington University, was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 20-26.

Harper, a red-shirt freshman, helped the Vikings run their win streak to 10 matches with 19 blocks in two conference wins during the week.

She also had 20 kills in the pair of wins, including 13 against Northwest Nazarene, which is one short of the conference record.
