Alexandra Laiblin, a 2014 Oak Harbor High School graduate now running track for Western Washington University, earned a conference meet qualifying time Saturday, April 24.

The freshman finished fifth out of 23 in the 5,000 meters at the 34th annual Ralph Vernacchia Track and Field Open in Bellingham in 17:59.

She has now qualified for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championships May 8 and 9 in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters.
