The Oak Harbor High School football team rang up an outstanding season in 2011, and, as a result, cashed in on all-league honors this fall.
In addition to 16 football players being honored, the Wildcat cross country team picked up 11 Wesco awards, the volleyball team five, the soccer team four and the swim team one.
Senior Josiah Miller led the football awards as he was named first-team running back, defensive back and punt returner for the second year in a row.
Senior running back Brent Ryan and senior offensive lineman Cody Hernkind also received first-team offense honors.
Joining Miller on the first-team defense was junior lineman Jeremy Foster.
Foster was a second-team offensive lineman choice for the second consecutive year. Senior center Tucker Lundstrom and junior tight end Austyn Walker were also second-team offensive picks. Lundstrom earned honorable mention last year.
Linebackers Hernkind and senior Nick Ferrell and junior defensive back Isaiah Trower were chosen for the defensive second team. Hernkind was honorable mention in 2010.
Honorable mention choices this fall were senior wide receiver Mike Washington, junior quarterback Ian Kolste, senior linebacker Justin Everett and senior defensive lineman Casey Ferguson.
The Oak Harbor cross country team had one first-team runner, senior Matt Reith. Second-team honors went to seniors Joshua Schrum, Hannah Bressler and Heather Dale; junior Christina Wicker; and freshman John Rodeheffer.
Honorable mention went to senior Taylor VonGrey; juniors John Kaltenbach, Ashley Everett and Carlie Kenny; and sophomore Alex Laiblin.
Reith and Wicker were first-team selections in 2010, and Bressler and Laiblin second team.
The volleyball squad dominated the All-Western Conference second team with seniors Janine DeGuzman and Christina Alexander, junior Taylor Nienhuis and sophomore Kayleigh Harper.
Junior Roshel Muzzall was an honorable mention selection.
In soccer, junior midfielder Mckenzie Schneider was picked for the All-Wesco second team. Senior defenders Maura McKole and Morgan Murphy and freshman midfielder Nalani Gabbert received honorable mention.
Senior swimmer Ciara Hu was named to the first-team.
