The conference opener for the Oak Harbor High School soccer team was also the first loss of the season for the Wildcats as they fell 3-0 at Stanwood Thursday, Sept. 17.
The Spartans (3-1-1) led 1-0 at the half and then put the match away with two goals after the break.
“They beat us to the ball, especially in the air,” Oak Harbor coach Mike Lonborg said. “Our accuracy of passing was very shaky. They dominated possession.”
The Wildcats (2-1-1) head to Marysville Getchell (0-3) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22.
