Oak Harbor places 8th in 23-team tournament | Girls golf

The Oak Harbor High School girls golf team battled the wind, rain and 22 other teams to finish eighth in the Burlington-Edison Invitational Monday, April 13, at the Skagit Valley Golf and Country Club.

Lake Stevens and Glacier Peak tied for first with 394 strokes; Oak Harbor shot 432.

Six golfers competed for each school with three playing 18 holes and three playing nine. The bottom nine-hole score was dropped.

Wildcat Terra Baird finished fifth among the nine-hole golfers with a 52. Hannah Taylor shot a 60, and Dana Cornejo finished at 66.

Amanda Mirante of Lake Stevens and Dylan Belcher of Hoquiam led with 47s.

Resego Mooki placed 13th among the 18-hole golfers, shooting 98. Marissa Sligh had a 109 and Hailey Beecher a 112.

Renee Kwak of Kamiak was tournament medalist with an 80.

Oak Harbor, Meadowdale and Glacier Peak play at Monroe’s Echo Golf Course at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 14.
