Scoring four runs in three different innings, the Oak Harbor High School baseball team gathered its first win of the season 12-4 over Arlington Monday, March 18.
The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, in Arlington but was rained out. The makeup game was played in Oak Harbor.
The Eagles (1-1) scored two in the top of the second, then the Wildcats responded with their first four-run frame to take the lead for good.
Arlington cut it to one, 4-3, with another run in the third. Oak Harbor added four each in the fifth and sixth to pull away.
Michael Maletto and David Kusnick led the Wildcat assault by going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Maletto added two stolen bases. Cory Cameron was 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Grant Schroeder doubled.
Andrew Snavely hurled five innings, yielding three runs on six hits. Jack Richter tossed the final two innings and gave up one hit.
Oak Harbor (1-2) travels to Shorecrest (0-2) at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, and hosts Mountlake Terrace (1-1) at 4 p.m. Friday.
