Sweeping a four-team meet at Jackson Tuesday, June 10, the Oak Harbor swim and dive team built some momentum as it looks to close out the conference season undefeated.

Oak Harbor is 5-0 in the Wesco North (the conference combines 4A and 3A schools together in swimming) and 8-2 overall with two meets remaining. Next up is a home meet with Snohomish, Glacier Peak and Monroe Monday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m.

Tuesday the Wildcats defeated Jackson 112-53. The Wildcats also defeated Edmonds-Woodway and Mountlake Terrace, but coach Amy Merkley said she has yet to receive the official results from the host school.

In the victory over Jackson the Wildcats earned individual wins from Jacob Jepsen (200 free, 1:57.75; 100 back, 1:00.9), Josh Jepsen (100 breast, 1:04.11), Toren Wood (200 IM, 2:04.47), Caley Powers (100 fly, 58.1) and Kevin Levy (100 free, 53.52).

All three relay teams also finished first. Jacob Jepsen, Josh Jepsen, Powers and Levy won the 200 medley (1:46.3) and 200 free (1:38.72) relays; and Wood, John Kaltenbach, Dakota Powers and Jeron Kosbar took the 400 free relay (3:55.14).

Merkley said, “The team is doing great. We are on track to be North Wesco league champs.”
