The Oak Harbor High School volleyball team handed Glacier Peak its first conference loss, winning 3-1 in Snohomish Thursday, Oct. 2.

The Wildcats (4-2, 4-3) showed their mettle by coming from behind to beat a traditionally tough opponent on the road.

The Grizzlies (4-1, 4-3) took the first game 25-17, then Oak Harbor rebounded to win 25-21, 25-18, 25-23.

“Despite a lot of errors, we pulled together,” coach Kerri Molitor said.

The offense was led by Claire Anderson with 18 kills, Amelia Berner added nine and Hailee Blau five. Natalie McVey handed out 20 assists and Hailey Beecher 19.

Beecher also had three aces and Anderson two.

On defense, Anderson was also the leader with 12 digs and Beecher had seven; Blau added two blocks.

The Wildcats return home to meet Stanwood (1-3, 3-3) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.
