By finishing second in the latest Wesco North match at Legion Memorial Golf Course in Everett Thursday, April 30, the Oak Harbor High School boys golf team broke a tie for second place in the conference regular season standings.

The match was the fifth of six league contests. The six Wesco North schools will finish the conference schedule at the Cedarcrest Golf Course at 3 p.m. Monday, May 4, in a match hosted by Marysville Getchell.

Stanwood has won all five Wesco North matches, including the latest with a stroke total of 390.

Oak Harbor finished second Thursday, edging Arlington 414-416. That put the Wildcats a point up on the Eagles in the league standings; the teams entered the match tied for second place.

Marysville Getchell shot 454 and Marysville-Pilchuck 456. Everett did not qualify for a team score.

Stanwood’s Gakushi Matsumoto was medalist with a 74 on the par-72 course.

Mason Dieter was the top Wildcat, shooting 78. Steven Timm carded an 80, Raiden Poe 84, Aaron Kelley 85, Ben Fikse 87 and Nick Whitley 97.
