It was a special night for the fledgling Oak Harbor High School girls wrestling team even though it dropped both ends of a double dual meet at Meridian Wednesday, Dec. 11.
In the second year of the program, the Wildcats took part in their first ever head-to-head team matches at Meridian, losing 42-30 to the host Trojans and 45-21 to Mount Baker.
“We are proud of our girls and the way they came together as a team today,” coach Brian Farmer said. “We’re looking forward to the rest of the season as we keep making improvements.”
Maria Dailey (155 pounds) won twice for Oak Harbor, collecting a pair of falls.
Ella Erikson (125) and Adelina Lopez (130) each won once and received a forfeit.
