The Oak Harbor Legion baseball team broke a six-game losing streak by ripping visiting Lake Stevens 11-1 Thursday, June 12.
The win no only stopped the long skid by avenged a 16-0 loss to the Vikings a day earlier.
Oak Harbor began Thursday’s rout early, scoring four runs in the first inning. Two hit batters, a walk, an error and singles by Tyler Snavely and Avery Aguirre sparked the inning.
When Lake Stevens scored in the third, Oak Harbor responded with two in the fourth on singles by Dylan Bailey, Kevyn Johnson, Quentin Tungate and Danny Wolfe.
The Wildcats cemented the win with a five-run sixth, all with no outs. Oak Harbor mixed three walks and an error with singles by Wolfe, Robert Herring, Snavely and Preston Rankin to produce the five-spot.
Johnson and Wolfe finished with three hits each; Snavely had two; and Tungate, Herring, Rankin, Aguirre and Bailey one each.
Snavely pitched a two-hitter, striking out four and walking four.
Oak Harbor (3-6) plays at Burlington (6-4) at 6 p.m. Monday, June 16, then hosts the Tigers at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
