The Oak Harbor High School tennis team finished ahead of the rain and host Mountlake Terrace to pick up its first win of the season Wednesday, March 21.
The Wildcats won 4-2. The third doubles match was rained out with the score tied a 2 in the first set.
MJ Timm (6-7[4], 6-3, 6-1) and Sierra Brackeen (6-3, 6-2) were Wildcat winners in second and third singles.
Oak Harbor also took the top two doubles matches. Shaina Aguirre and Danielle Lonborg won 7-6(3), 6-4; and Emily Gouge and Johanna Schmidt prevailed 6-2, 6-0.
Emma Wezeman dropped the first singles match 6-0, 6-0; and Elaine Aguirre fell in fourth singles 6-4, 6-0.
Taliah Black and Jasmine Schultz were competing in third doubles when the match was halted at 2-2.
Oak Harbor (1-2) opens Wesco North play when it hosts Everett (3-0) at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 23.
