The first games of the 2018 Little League baseball and softball seasons were played Monday, April 9, and photographer John Fisken shot some of the action at Coupeville’s Rhododendron Park.

It was an all-Whidbey Island affair as the Central Whidbey minor softball team faced North Whidbey and the Central Whidbey minor baseball team took on South Whidbey.

North Whidbey Little League will hold its annual opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Windjammer Park.
