Post-season action accelerates this week for Oak Harbor and Coupeville high school athletes.
The Coupeville tennis team gets things started today, May 9, at 11 p.m. at Friday Harbor in the district tournament.
The Oak Harbor girls golf team hosts the Wesco 3A championships at the Whidbey Golf and Country Club Monday, May 9, at 1 p.m. The eight-team tournament concludes at WG&CC Tuesday with the second round teeing off at 1 p.m.
The Wildcat baseball team hosts Glacier Peak in round one of the district tournament Monday at 4 p.m. in a makeup game for Saturday’s rainout. Oak Harbor advances to round two Tuesday and will either travel to Mount Vernon or host Meadowdale at 4 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament depending on the outcome of Monday’s games.
The Oak Harbor boys golf team begins the Wesco 3A championships at the Snohomish Golf Course Tuesday, May 10, at noon, and concludes Wednesday at noon at Snohomish.
Coupeville’s soccer team, fresh off a 3-0 win over Meridian in the district tournament last week, plays in a winner-to-state, loser-out tri-district match Tuesday, May 10. The Wolves play the No. 1 seed from District 3, Seattle Christian, at Foster High School at 5:30 p.m.
Oak Harbor hosts the Wesco 3A track meet Wednesday, May 11, and Friday, May 13. Preliminaries and the finals of several events take place Wednesday beginning at 3:30. The finals for the remaining events begin at 5 p.m. Friday.
Coupeville travels to Cedarcrest Wednesday, May 11, for the beginning of the Cascade Conference track meet and the preliminary heats and several finals. The meet concludes Friday at 4 at Cedarcrest.
The Coupeville fastpitch team plays at the No. 4 seed from the Northwest Conference, Meridian, Thursday, May 12, at 4 p.m. in a district play-in game.
