Recreational shrimping in Areas 8-1 and 8-2 will close June 23

Recreational shrimping in Areas 8-1 and 8-2 will close at 9 p.m. the night of Monday, June 23. All shrimp gear must be removed from the water by that time. Recreational spot shrimp fishing will reopen for one day, Tuesday, June 24, in Marine Areas 8-1 and 8-2. All shrimp gear must be removed from the water by 3 p.m. on Tuesday June 24.

Recreational shrimping in Areas 8-1 and 8-2 will close at 9 p.m. the night of Monday, June 23. All shrimp gear must be removed from the water by that time. Recreational spot shrimp fishing will reopen for one day, Tuesday, June 24, in Marine Areas 8-1 and 8-2. All shrimp gear must be removed from the water by 3 p.m. on Tuesday June 24.

Sufficient recreational spot shrimp quota remains for one more weekday of fishing. The open day is being shifted forward from Wednesday to Tuesday, as there is a commercial crab opener in this area on Wednesday, June 25. The non-spot shrimp gear will be allowed back in the water on Wednesday morning, June 25, at 7 a.m.
