The Oak Harbor High School NJROTC rifle team received a grant this week from the National Rifle Association, according to Wildcat coach Dave Goodman.
The team will receive two Challenger 2009 rifles, two hand stop swivels, two military slings, 150 tins of pellets and 3,500 targets.
The value of the grant is $2,533.77.
“This represents a huge plus for the team and school as it means we get some items we really need and they do not come out of CTE’s budget,” Goodman said.
The grant was made possible by Washington Friends of the NRA, who raise funds privately to support worthy programs related to firearm safety and competition.
