John Rodeheffer’s win in the 1,600 meters highlighted the first day of the 3A Wesco track championships for Oak Harbor High School Wednesday, May 14, at Marysville’s Quil Ceda Stadium.
Finals in five boys and four girls events were held Wednesday; preliminaries were conducted in many of the others. The meet will resume at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Taylor Deconzo led the Wildcat girls by placing fourth in the javelin (107), while Jonalynn Horn (5:19.77) and Alex Laiblin (5:20.51) ran fifth and sixth in the 1,600.
Along with Rodeheffer’s win (4:23.41), Tyler Adamson scored for Oak Harbor by placing sixth in the shot put (44).
