Laura Rosen’s four wins highlighted the North Whidbey Aquatic Club’s effort at the Kamiak Age Group Invitational in Mukilteo Feb. 24 to 26.
Rosen, swimming in the girls 15-and-older division, won the 400 individual medley (4:38.65), 200 freestyle (1:58.00), 200 butterfly (2:07.52) and 200 IM (2:10.09).
Other Aquajet event winners were Jerrin Concepcion, Kelly Huffer, Jacob Jepsen, Josh Jepsen and Cole Weinstein.
Other notable achievements by Aquajets were Mariel Empinado and Ella Schroeder earning 100 percent personal records, Ashleigh Merrill clocking a Pacific Northwest Swim Gold cut, Brett Vagt and Lauren Vagt meeting age group times and Mollie Briddell joining the Minute Club.
Swimmer of the Meet was Olivia Tungate with six seconds in six swims and five PRs.
NWAC next competes March 8 to 11 at the Northwest Region Senior Sectional Championships in Federal Way where it will field a team of 10 competitors. The meet draws the fastest swimmers from 12 western states.
The North Whidbey Aquatic Club is a competitive swimming program of the North Whidbey Park and Recreation District. It includes swimmers of all abilities and ages from 6 through college.
Tryouts occur Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the city pool from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. New swimmers should be able to swim a length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. The first two weeks are free.
