Running Unlimited Fitness snared five first places in its season-opening meet Saturday, June 16, at Puyallup’s Sparks Stadium.
Kaitlyn Chelberg (youth girls, 13/14) grabbed two firsts, winning the long jump (13-03) and 100 hurdles (18.38).
John Rodeheffer (intermediate boys, 15/16) also won twice, taking the 1,500 (4:33.9) and 3,000 (9:45).
Rachel Crowther (intermediate girls) won in the 100 hurdles (20.1) and was third in the 800 (2:53.3).
Michael Fisken (midget boys, 11/12) earned Athlete of the Meet honors by placing in the top three in three events (second, discus, 18.75m; third, shot put, 7.33m; third, turbo javelin, 76-07.75).
Miguel Guzman earned Most Improved by shaving five seconds of his best 400 time while placing fourth (1:03). He was also third in the 800 (2:55.3).
Coach Catie Rodeheffer said the team accepts new members at any time and will be competing in track through August. She said, “We welcome athletes from other sports looking for an edge in fitness and speed.”
