Down by a point late in the match, Oak Harbor coach Brian Thompson said “we changed our system” in the last eight minutes to try to get the equalizer.

“This gave us many shots on goal, but we couldn’t put one more in the net,” Thompson said.

J.J. Mitchell, off an assist from Jordan Shelley, scored the Wildcats’ goal.

One of Stanwood’s (2-8, 3-10-1) goals was an own goal off an Oak Harbor player.

Oak Harbor (1-7-1, 1-11-1) plays Meadowdale (6-1-2, 8-1-4) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Edmonds Stadium.
