Booster club hosts physicals
The Oak Harbor High School Booster Club hosts its annual sports physical night from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at the high school.
The cost is $30 per player or $60 for a family, and all proceeds benefit Oak Harbor High School athletic programs.
Local physicians volunteer their time to do an extensive physical.
Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and are reminded to wear tennis shoes.

Basketball camp at OHHS
Coach Mike Washington, Oak Harbor High School head boys varsity basketball coach, and Justin Ronning, Oak Harbor High school boys assistant coach, will conduct a summer basketball camp June 23 through June 25 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Oak Harbor High School gym.
The camp is for players entering fourth through ninth grades and is designed as a camp to teach campers fundamentals they can use to enhance their game.
Many fundamentals will be covered throughout the three days including ball handling (passing, catching and dribbling); individual defense (stance, feet and hand positions, transition drills, closeouts, blocking out); footwork and shooting to name a few.
The cost of the camp is $45 per player and all you’ll need is basketball shoes, a basketball and a good attitude.
Space is limited to the first 30 players, so sign up now.

Summer tennis camp at OHHS
Oak Harbor High School tennis coach Horace Mells will be offering tennis camps on the high school courts beginning Monday, June 23.
These camps are for players of all ages, and continue through Aug. 22.
The youth camp is for players entering grade three and above will be held June 23 through July 30 at a cost of $45 per player, or $75 for a family of two.
For a family of three, the cost is $100 and add $20 per player for families over three. The fees include youth tournaments, T-shirts and awards.
Classes will be in eight sections, each 30 minutes in length, from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Adult camp will run from June 24 to July 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Beginners to intermediate camp is from 6 to 7 p.m. and intermediate to advanced players meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
The cost for the adult camp is $45 per player.
Individual and group lessons are also available.

Youth sailing lessons at marina
Three sessions of beginning and intermediate youth sailing lessons will be offered by the Oak Harbor Youth Sailing Foundation this summer at the Oak Harbor Marina.
Participants, ages 9 and older, will learn how to sail on El Toro sailboats.
They will learn the basics of rigging the boat, steering techniques, sailing rules, sail trim, racing rules and boating safety.
The cost of each session is $75 plus $12 for the sailing textbook which can be purchased at the first class session.
Session 1 is a weekend session and will be held May 31, June 1, 7, 8, 21 and 22.
Session 2 is a sailing camp and will be held June 23 through June 28.
Session 3 is another weekend session and will be held July 12, 13, 19, 20, Aug. 2 and 3. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrations are being taken by sending a check to OHYS, P.O. Box 2876, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.

Sign up now for summer camp
Oak Harbor High School girls basketball coach Brett McLeod, his coaching staff and players invite all girls in grades second through eighth to attend a summer basketball camp at the high school Monday through Thursday, July 28 to 31.
This is a chance to come out and work on your basketball skills, under the guidance of the Wildcats’ coaches and players.
The cost of the camp is $55 per player, with a $10 discount if registered by June 1, and includes a long-sleeve T-shirt and a water bottle.
Registrations must be postmarked no later than June 15 to receive the gear.
This camp is for girls of all skill levels and will serve as a great way to have some fun this summer.
