Squalicum outscored, barely, the Oak Harbor High School girls basketball team in each quarter en route to a 47-38 win over the Wildcats Monday, Dec. 8, in Bellingham.
The Storm (2-2) led 15-12 after the first quarter, then raised its lead by one point over the next to quarters, leading 25-21 at the half and 32-27 after three periods.
Squalicum’s Chalae Wolters scored 12 of her game-high 14 points in the first half to help the Storm take the early lead.
Oak Harbor (0-3) received a solid game from Rahsanna Graham, who scored a career high 10 points; she also had five assists and five rebounds. Janae Payne added four points, six rebounds and four steals; and AnnaBelle Whitefoot had six points, five rebounds and three steals.
Jinai Guzman scored seven points, Deja Bunch four, Bryn Langrock three and Julie Jansen and Taylor Deconzo two each.
Jansen also collected five rebounds.
Oak Harbor plays at Mount Vernon (0-2) at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.
