King’s, ranked in the state top 10 in 1A volleyball, helped justify its poll position with a dominating 3-0 win at Coupeville Thursday, Sept. 27.

The Knights (7-0) won 25-11, 25-3, 25-17.

Coupeville coach Toni Crebbin said, “They played well and looked like a top-10 ranked team tonight…They seemed to do everything right.”

Crebbin said her team struggled in serve receive “which made it difficult to get any offense going.”

As a result, the Wolves had no offensive stats of note. Defensively, Bree Messner registered 14 digs.

Crebbin said the Wolves are “hoping to really turn things around next week for our second time through the league.”

The Wolves (1-6, 2-6) start the second round at home at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, with Cedarcrest (6-1). Crebbin said there is a possibility that injured team leader Bessie Walstad may return late next week.
