SVC holds annual fundraising golf tournament

In celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the James M. Ford Golf Classic, the Skagit Valley College Foundation announces that golfer registrations are being accepted for the annual fundraiser scheduled for Friday, May 13, at Avalon Golf Links in Burlington.

In celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the James M. Ford Golf Classic, the Skagit Valley College Foundation announces that golfer registrations are being accepted for the annual fundraiser scheduled for Friday, May 13, at Avalon Golf Links in Burlington.

Shell Puget Sound Refinery is underwriting the event for the 20th year in a row. Tournaments and other fundraising activities help the SVC Foundation continue to support students by providing valuable program enhancements, scholarships and other assistance.

“This annual tournament helps raise critical funds for student and program support,” Kelli Tolf, SVC Foundation assistant director, said. “We are extremely grateful to all the generous community donors and volunteers who make these SVC Foundation events a success.”

The registration fee is $130 per golfer or $500 for a foursome and includes the use of a golf cart, snacks and refreshments throughout the day.  Pre-registration is encouraged.

Check-in begins at 10 a.m. and the tournament begins with a shotgun start at noon.  Golfers will be treated to a dinner at 5 p.m. and an awards ceremony and raffle.
