Behind a medalist performance by Steven Timm, the Oak Harbor High School boys golf team placed third in the second of six Wesco North matches Monday, April 20, at the Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville.

Stanwood, which also won the first Wesco North match, took first with 406 strokes. Arlington finished second at 434, eight strokes better than Oak Harbor.

Host Marysville-Pilchuck (463) and Marysville Getchell (476) followed; Everett does not have enough players to earn a team score.

Oak Harbor is the next host, entertaining the five other Wesco North schools at the Whidbey Golf Club at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21.

Timm tied Connor Stephens of Arlington for medalist honors, firing a 74 on the par-70 course.

“Steven Timm had his best round for any tournament,” coach David Smith said. “He said he was hitting greens in regulation and two-putting a lot. He had 14 pars and four bogies.

“I think the team did well, but I know they can all score better. They all had a tough time putting and getting the balls to hold the greens. I expect them to bounce back today with our home match.”

Other Oak Harbor scores: Raiden Poe, 86; Mason Dieter, 88; Aaron Kelley, 95; Ben Fikse, 99; Tom Dale, 103.
