Tungate sets team record at PNS Championships | NWAC

The North Whidbey Aquatic Club finished 13th out of 40 teams at the 14-and-under Pacific Northwest Swim Championships Dec. 7 to 9 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The Aquajets scored 392 points in the meet won by the King Aquatic Club with 3,491.

Olivia Tungate, 12, won the 100-yard butterfly in a new NWAC record of 1:00.99 and snared five second places.

Jerrin Concepcion, 10, also earned a gold in the 50-yard butterfly (31:28) and finished in the top four in four other events.

Other Aquajets who reached the podium included Kelly Huffer, 13, who placed third in the 200 individual medley (2:10.6) and 1,650 freestyle (18.05.19); and Taliah Black, 12, who was second in the 50 breaststroke (33.32).

Jillian Pape finished among the top eight in the 100 butterfly; and Molly Vagt, Ashleigh Merrill, Michael Johnson, Maira Sulin and Bruce Vagt placed in the top 16.
